The ‘Blue Army’ is what we collectively call our Youth Development Exhibition (“House”) teams.
Once you’re 9 years old (which we consider ‘Under 10’ or ‘U10′) you leave your Tim Horton’s “Timbits” t-shirt behind and put on the Mid-Isle Blue Army jersey for the first time. Blue Army youth teams go from ages 9-17 (“U10” up to “U18”, respectively) and play against teams from Nanaimo, Oceanside, and Gabriola Island.
Players in this fun, development atmosphere practice once a week (in addition to the Monday Night Club Development sessions), and play a game every weekend, usually on Saturdays. The U10 teams play what’s called “double-sided” 6v6 games, where both teams’ coaches stand in the middle of two games ensuring an even level of play. The U11, U12, and U13 teams play 8-a-side games across the width of a regular soccer field; U14 and older teams play 11-a-side on the full field.
The House level is excellent for players who are new to soccer, or those who just want to have fun in a team atmosphere.
